        On July 12, For. Mayumi Quintos-Natividad is named the new Editor-in Chief of Sylvatrop, the Technical Journal of Philippine Ecosystems and Natural Resources. For. Natividad is recently appointed as the new Assistant Director of the Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau and as such will also serve as the new Chair of Sylvatrop Editorial Board (SEB). SEB is a policy-making body tasked to formulate policies for the management of Sylvatrop Journal.

      For. Natividad will replace the outgoing Assistant Director Dr. Bighani M. Manipula who was recently appointed as the new Assistant Regional Director (ARD) for Management Services of DENR-Region IV-B. Dr. Manipula served as the Sylvatrop Editorial Board Chair and Editor-in-Chief from January 2017 to July 2019. During his stint, AD Manipula has led the timely production of Sylvatrop issues in accordance to the international publishing standards. He spearheaded six regional seminars which had increased awareness of more than 600 DENR regional staff as well as PENROs and CENROs in the importance of publishing scientific information about Environment and Natural Resources.

        On the other hand, For. Natividad who will become the new EIC and Chair of SEB has been official permanent representative of FMB to SEB since 2006. As new EIC of Sylvatrop Journal, For. Natividad will take the lead in achieving the vision of Sylvatrop Journal to become an internationally-accredited journal by 2022.
